Beth Peters
Beth has been a full-time Lecturer of Management
Communications at the Jones School of Management at Rice
University since 1999. She provides workshops on team dynamics
and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI). She has taught
and co-taught classes in Management Communications, Team-Based
Management Consulting, Team Coaching & Mentoring, and
Leadership in Healthcare. She serves as a faculty advisor to
the Action Learning Project and teaches ALP workshops in both
communications and team process.Beth was a Communications Specialist with McKinsey & Company for more than three years, participating in many projects. Highlights of this experience include developing training materials for the associates' Introductory Leadership Workshop, communicating a multi-million dollar merger to internal and external audiences, and editing Productivity-led Growth for Korea, a report on the Korean economy and financial crisis that later became a best selling book in Korea. Her other business experience includes three years of supervising corporate advertising, public relations, and promotions for a national book retailer and two years of copy writing at two Texas advertising agencies, The Richards Group and SicolaMartin, Inc. Beth continues to consult on various topics, including public relations, corporate communications, group dynamics, and employee development. She holds a BA in psychology and English from the University of Texas and an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College.
