Charles McCabe
Chuck is a teacher, writer, and editor who has 20 years of
experience in the energy and oil service industries. He has
taught leadership and intercultural communication in the MBA
programs at Rice University and the University of Tulsa,
business and technical writing at Texas A&M University and
the University of Houston Downtown, and English language and
literature at the University of Houston Main Campus.
As an energy industry trade journal editor for Gulf
Publishing Company, he wrote and edited articles on a broad
array of technical, business, economic, and political topics.
In the oil service industry, he first worked for several
companies as a technical writer preparing operations and
maintenance manuals. Later, as marketing manager for
Oceaneering International, Inc., he managed proposals for
projects valued at up to $100 million, wrote and edited papers
for technical professional journals and articles for trade
publications, prepared press releases, and developed articles
and presentations for company executives.
He has recently pursued an interest in intercultural
communication by earning a Certificate in Intercultural Studies
from the Centre for Intercultural Communication at the
University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
He served as chief editor for the book Twilight in the
Desert: The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy,
by Matt Simmons, published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., June
2005. He received his Ph.D. in English Language and Literature
from the University of Minnesota.
