June Ferrill
June has trained and consulted with Bank of America,
Continental Airlines, Ernst & Young, and Arthur Andersen,
among others. She had three years of experience at McKinsey
& Company as Communications Consultant assisting project
teams in developing client communications for Fortune 500
companies. She coached teams in developing proposals and
communicating progress and recommendations to clients. She
worked in financial services, energy, technology,
transportation, and manufacturing sectors. In addition, she
developed and facilitated courses worldwide for McKinsey
professionals.
Following her work at McKinsey, she served as course
development specialist for the Engineering Division of KBR, a
subsidiary of Halliburton. She developed a training curriculum
and taught courses for project management. June played a
significant role in initiating and providing on-going training
in communications, management development, quality control,
team building, and strategic planning.
Currently a faculty member at Rice University, she teaches
managerial communications and business ethics. The business
ethics course is being taught in the Rice Engineering School
and is based on a recent book, Seven Layers of
Integrity, which she co-authored with George P. Jones. She
has also taught at the Jones School of business and is a
co-founder of ChangeMakers, Inc., which specializes in
integrity training. Involved with training and communications
consulting since 1981, her communication specialties include
international communications, managerial communications, and
entrepreneurial communications including business plans.
She was an editor and contributing author to Business
and Managerial Communications: New Perspectives, an
800-page college textbook. She holds a Ph.D. from the Joint
Ph.D. Program in English and Education at the University of
Michigan, where she taught for five years.
